Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Living as a Family (1)

Topic: Living as a Family (1)

Dear Reader,

I welcome you to another wonderful month of divine visitations!  In this edition of our monthly teaching series, I shall be exposing you to an important topic: Living as a Family.  Enjoying bliss in your family is as important to God just as it is to you. Therefore, as you open your heart to listen to God’s instruction concerning your family, I see Him manifesting His wondrous acts in your family.

Being married is a wonderful experience and a mystery. You are no longer single individuals, but a couple. Each party has to now consider his/her partner and not only him/herself.

After you get married, you are being blessed with children (either biological or by adoption) and additional responsibilities (related either by blood or association) come into the home; a family is then established. Families are product of marriages; one leads to the other.

What then is a Family?

A family is a group of people affiliated by blood or marriage. It is the central unit of the church and a nation. It is a fundamental social group in the society, typically consisting of a man and woman and their offspring.

Whereas, a family consists of a group of persons sharing common ancestry, marriage consist of a man and a woman, known as husband and wife, who  share goals and values, have long-term commitments to one another, and reside usually in the same dwelling place. All the members of a household under one roof can be termed as a family. God ordained a family to include one man, one woman, and their children.

What is Family Life?

This is the manner of living of a group of people who share common ancestry. It is the manner of living in a household, a group of people affiliated by blood and marriage. It is the way in which parents, children and closed relations live.

Incidentally, no individual on earth, whether married or single, dropped from heaven. Everyone on the earth, young or old, rich or poor, male or female, black or white, came from one family or another, from one lineage or another, is connected to one person or the other genetically or by association. Issues on family and family life therefore, affect everyone on the earth.

A marriage is supposed to be a union between a man and a woman, who must have at one point or the other stood before a man of God or a registry as the case may be to take an oath to live and to love until death do them part. Marriage is the life between two lovers who are committed to each other; they will have similar values and have the plan for a family.

A family consist of people who are bound to live together in love, peace and harmony.

For you to be able to enjoy a good family, you need to surrender your life to Christ. Confess your sins to Him and welcome Him into your heart. Are you ready? If you are ready please say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ Name! Call or write to share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org, 07026385437 OR 08141320204.
