Basic Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:5-7; John 10:19-39

Once a public bus driver starts his intolerable antics, he is simply regarded as “ mad.” When a young preacher takes the pulpit and with some over-exagerated gestures, ministers the Word, he is regarded as “mad.” Years ago, at Orlando Florida, I saw a young music artist who had his hair plaited as though he was a woman. But more weird was the fact that he had two different hairstyles on, as he thrilled the crowd. He was the center of attraction and to many present, he was probably “mad.” However, in everything great people do, the operative word which they always bring to bear is something close to “madness.”

He shall see [the fruit] of the travail of His soul and be satisfied; by His knowledge of Himself [which He possesses and imparts to others] shall My [uncompromisingly] righteous One, My Servant, justify many and make many righteous (upright and in right standing with God), for He shall bear their iniquities and their guilt [with the consequences, says the Lord]. — Isaiah 53:11

You may not think highly of yourself, but God wants you to know who you are in Christ and like yourself. Here are five practical tips to help increase your self-acceptance and your confidence of knowing who you are in Christ:

If you have had an encounter with Jesus, you are not ordinary. Therefore, don’t expect things to happen to you as they happen to others. What you expect is what you get. The bible says his name shall be called wonderful, meaning you will be a wonder to behold. If you go for an interview you will be successful. If they put you behind the line, God will bypass the line and place you ahead of them.

Thought For The Day: Quality information is the secret of destiny transformation.

It has been established that information has the power to transform a person’s life. There is something you will hear or read that will change your life for the better. Quality information is the secret of destiny transformation. Behind every form of deliverance is information or a revelation. It is revelation that removes evil blindfolds and breaks the chains of bondage off people’s lives.

In many nations, nowadays, what should ordinarily count as blessings to them have become sources of trouble or suffering. Some countries, blessed with rich natural resources, have allowed this to become a curse to the point that they no longer enjoy peace and a robust economy. Earnings from the natural resources are not put to proper use. Rather, various activities that did not elevate the worship of God are enthroned; idolatry is courted; greed and wickedness are elevated to statecraft.

God never promised to remove temptation from us, for even Christ was subject to it. The Bible says that “He was tested in all things, like as we, yet without sin.” There is no good reason why you should seek to escape, for such times of testing have beneficial effects. There is a sense of achievement and assurance that results from victory over temptation that cannot come to us otherwise.

Thomas knew Jesus. He just didn't realize Jesus was "the way." Likewise, people today know portions of God's Word but they don't realize that God's Word is their way to victory. Often, people cry out for God to speak to them while their Bible lays unopened on their nightstand. God has spoken to us through His Word. We just need to believe it and receive its truths as our way to victory.

Scripture: Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in…so the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Joshua 6:1, 20.

Thought For The Day: What you do not confront, you cannot conquer; what you do not surround, will not surrender.

John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

Text: John 14:2

This is Jesus' last teaching to His disciples before His crucifixion. Jesus' disciples were about to go through the greatest test of their faith that they had ever encountered. Jesus said that He was saying these things so His disciples would not be offended. Jesus was preparing them for what was to come. Why then speak of preparing them a mansion in heaven? The reason for this was to comfort the disciples and help them put things in perspective. In 1 Thessalonians 4:18, Paul tells us to comfort one another with words about being gathered unto the Lord in the air. Paul said again, "I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Rom. 8:18). Someday, all of our trials will seem like nothing and this can be a great comfort to us now.

“And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.” Exodus 6:3

The bible is not careful to tell us God’s origin. It is a case of take it or leave it. In the beginning God! God is the beginning that began the beginning. He doesn’t have to tell you where he is from. In the beginning God, you either accept it or nothing. He spoke things into existence. That is why you can’t study him. You know him by revelation. The more you make him the subject of your pursuit, the more of himself he will reveal to you. In the scriptures, he is revealed as Saviour. But while you are still grappling with the fact that he is the Saviour, he shows another side of himself. He reveals that he is not just the Saviour, but the healer. While you are still grappling with that, he reveals himself as the Great Provider.

Topic: When It Does Not Make Sense [Wednesday, October 18, 2017]

Basic Scripture: Isaiah 55: 1-10

Most instructions that God will send to you for the lifting of your destiny will never make sense to you at first instance. For example, the Word of God to Abraham (Genesis 15: 1-3); Moses (Exodus 4: 10-14); Joshua (1: 9, 3:15); Joseph (Matt. 1: 19-20); Jeremiah (Jer. 1:6), etc, did not make initially.

The word says, “His ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts our thoughts” (Isaiah 555:8-10).

When God called great men like late Oral Roberts, the late archbishop Idahosa, the late Lester Sumrall, the late Pastor Akindayomi (RCCG founder), Pastor W.F . Kumuyi, the late Pastor Collins Babalola, etc, it did not make sense then, but it made sense later!

Dear Reader,

I am sure that you have been enjoying peace and God’s blessings, after letting go of impatience, as taught last week. This week, I will be teaching on “Covetousness.”

Covetousness is a strong urge or desire to possess something that belongs to someone else.  You see something on or with someone and you immediately start scheming and planning to have it. Discontentment is what usually drives people into covetousness. Many people are possession obsessed.  They are never satisfied with what they have per time and nothing is ever enough. They always want more. Life means much more than the abundance of your possession. Luke 12:15 warns: Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Topic: Call Out Seeds of Greatness [Tuesday October 17, 2017]

Very often, we see potential in other people that they can’t see in themselves. When you speak vision into them, when you tell them what they can become, you can help set the direction for their life. Your words have the power to push people into their divine destiny. I believe that the reason some people are not living at their full potential is because no one has ever spoken faith into them. No one has taken the time to say, “Hey, you’re great at this. You’ve got a gift here. You’re going to do something amazing.”

David said, The Lord Who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go, and the Lord be with you! — 1 Samuel 17:37

Grief and loneliness are major problems facing people today. The two often go together because many people grieve about being lonely. At our ministry, we often receive prayer requests for people struggling with loneliness.

Dear Reader,

In courtship, you have to protect your marital destiny by protecting yourselves from defilement. As I said last week, do all in your power to see that the foundation of marriage you lay during courtship is not destroyed through the lust of the flesh. Defilement of bed is the defilement of marital destiny. It takes the mercy of God to restore the honour in marriage, once it is defiled. This week, I shall be talking about “Abstaining from all appearances of evil.”

Basic Scriptures: Psalm 91

You have probably read or heard of the word: “HEDGE” (Job 1: 8-10). This was the hedge of fire of protection round Job and it is still operating concerning every child of God. As long as you did not leave the hedge yourself, heaven is committed to protect you day and night. Reject the fear of premature death, armed robbery and any other harm as this year ends. Walk DAILY by faith in the fact that there is a hedge around you.

Scripture: And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; …After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town. Mark 8:22-26.

Thought For The Day: If you want to experience the touch of God, you must be willing to be led by Him.

Our anchor scripture tells the story of a blind man of Bethsaida who was brought to Jesus Christ to be touched by Him. Jesus took the blind man by hand and led him out of the town and after a little process; the man regained his sight.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee ... — Isaiah 26:3

Are you searching for peace? Are you longing for it? You thought you would find it if you made a lot of money, but you didn’t find it. You thought you would find it in getting and accumulating a lot of knowledge, so you got all the degrees you could, but you didn’t find it, this peace.

Topic: Focus On The Victory That You Have In Christ — Tuesday October 17, 2017.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” (1 John 5:4 KJV)

The bible tells us that we have been quickened, raised and made to sit together in Christ Jesus. We are already seated with Christ. Deliverance operates from the standpoint of victory. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. That is why he did not say we are changed from weakness to glory, but from glory to glory and from strength to strength. This is the victory! God has already given you victory! So focus on the victory. Focus on the victory that will make you overcome the world. That victory is “even our faith”. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. The victory that overcomes the world is the word of God. No matter what the devil is doing you are coming out.

Matthew 26:33 "Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended."

Text: Matthew 26:33

Just like Peter, we are often more confident of ourselves than God is. Many Christians are devastated when they fail in some area that they thought they had long since grown past. We need to realize that as long as we are in this mortal body, we cannot fall asleep at our battle station against the works of the flesh. If we do, our flesh is just as capable of sin as anyone else's. If we fall, it should concern us but not surprise us. We should simply realize with Paul, that "in my flesh dwelleth no good thing," get back into the spirit through confession and forgiveness, and go on with Jesus.

Text: 2 Chronicles 14:1-15

Key Verse: "And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.” (2 Chronicles 14:11).

A combination of self-confidence, forgetfulness and outright rebellion had been the hallmark of Israel through the ages. The result was that Israel was left so spiritually bankrupt that even tiny nations rode roughshod over her.

We often think of "laying down your life" for someone else in terms of dying. That's what Jesus did. He loved us so much He laid down His life by dying in our place so that we could live.

Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:19

On a visit to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, I saw a masterpiece called The Wind. The painting showed a storm moving through a wooded area. Tall, thin trees leaned to the left. Bushes thrashed in the same direction.

In an even more powerful sense, the Holy Spirit is able to sway believers in the direction of God’s goodness and truth. If we go along with the Spirit, we can expect to become more courageous and more loving. We will also become more discerning about how to handle our desires (2 Tim. 1:7).
