Topic — The Two Buckets: There Is Always Honey In Every Lion [Friday, September 22, 2017]
(Judges 14:1-10)
The story is told of two buckets – one was an optimist (believes that good will always come out of bad) and the other was a pessimist (believes that bad will always prevail in the end). “There has never been a life as disappointing as mine.” Said the empty bucket at it approached the well. “I always come to the well empty.” But the second bucket said, “There has never been such a happy life as mine” said the pessimist empty bucket. “I always leave the well full.”
One was seeing the negative, while the other was seeing the positive! Before the days of antibiotics, Robert Louis Stevenson, the great Scottish novelist and author of a book I used in my secondary school literature: “TREASURE ISLAND”, was bedridden with convulsion. But the disease did not block his positive view of life. Once, when his wife heard him coughing badly, she said to him: “I expect you still believe it’s a wonderful day.” He looked at the rays of sunshine hitting the wall of the bedroom, then looked at his wife and fired back, “I do believe it’s a wonderful day. I will never permit a row of medicine bottles to block my horizon (vision).”
Heaven is speaking to you today about being positive about life at all times, despite obstacles. In all that happens to you, see the positive side. There is always good in every bad! There is always honey in every Lion! Even along the city called, ‘Mirah’ (bitterness), there is a land of milk and honey. Never forget the priceless seed of Charles Swindoll: “Life is 10% of what you happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.”
Truly, you cannot control the beauty of your face, but you can control the expression on it. Don’t see what you had lost! See what you have left! See the good in every situation! Look for it! Wait for it! Stop crying /blaming yourself! That allowed trial has a hidden reason and testimony! Refuse depression! Be positive! That’s the secret of people at the top! Pray now!
