Winning Wisdom: Give No Place To The Devil

Topic: Give No Place To The Devil — Tuesday, 15th August 2017.

Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27

Jesus states what the devil wants to do when he comes into the lives of people, when He said that "the thief cometh not but to steal, kill and destroy..." (John 10:10). Satan's got nothing positive to add to a life. He wants to steal, kill and destroy all that God has given us. That's his agenda whenever he is given a place in the lives of people. And this is why we must not give him any place in our lives for him to carry out his agenda. Because any place we give to him, no matter how small, He will exploit it to his advantage to steal, kill and destroy.

Some folks might say Satan has gotten no more power to do these in the life of a Christian because all power now belongs to Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19). But we must know that Satan's tool of deception is still as sharp and active like in old times when he deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden. He is still as subtle as he was then. And subtly, he can wreck havoc in our lives if we give him a place. What Apostle Paul was saying through that scripture was that we should shut out the devil from our minds whenever he knocks on the door of our hearts with his deceptive thoughts, thoughts that does not accentuate the righteousness of God.

We must learn how to keep the devil out of our hearts so that he won't come to steal our joy, kill our peace and destroy our enthusiasm for God. If we allow him a place in our heart, he will wreck havoc in our lives that might take awhile for us to recover from. We can't afford to give the devil a place, it's counterproductive, and we won't be able to produce the good works, which we have been before ordained that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10). Shutting the devil out is a daily thing we must keep doing. He is very persistent and insisting. So also we must learn to persistently and insistently shut him out of our lives. Give the devil no place.

Keep winning daily.

Dear Lord, thank You for giving me life in abundance. Help me, by the working of Your Spirit in me, to always shut out the devil from my mind, giving him no place to carry out his agenda, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
