TREM’s Daily 13 August 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - No Man Will Steal Your Destiny

Topic: No Man Will Steal Your Destiny — Sunday August 13, 2017.

“And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.” Genesis 38:29 (KJV)

The story in our Bible reading today is very interesting. There is so much I can say about it. But today, I have come to announce to you that No man will still your destiny. In the Old Testament, one of the things midwives will not play with is identifying the 1st child. This is because, even as twins, the first one that comes out takes the double portion reserved for the 1st born. With this in mind, at the time of delivery the women were very vigilant and suddenly, right before their eyes, Zarah’s hand came out so a scarlet thread was tied around his wrist giving him the mark of the 1st born, but then the unthinkable happened, Zarah drew back his hand and Pharez came forth. Stop and think about it, does it not happen at times. You have evaluated a situation and you think you have it all together and suddenly the unexpected happens.

Beloved, there are times in the race of life, that Zarah shows it face in an attempt to take that which belongs to you. But I have come to declare to you that in Christ, you have the right of the 1st born. You are in Christ; the double portion is available to you and the devil will not steal it from you. No matter how many “Zarahs” run ahead of you, you will burst forth like Pharez. Zarah gave a false representation that almost denied Pharez of the right of the firstborn, but God came through. I declare over your life that no Zarah will stop you. You will burst from the left to the right and you will fulfil purpose in Jesus’ name. All destiny thieves like Zarah are stopped in Jesus’ name. Every plan of God for your life will manifest in Jesus’ name. I will hear your testimony.
