Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. Proverbs 23:17. Read: Ps 73:1-24
God’s Word warns us against envy of the wicked because the wealth of the wicked are laid up for the righteous. The above scripture did say, Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. The fear of the LORD brings satisfaction and contentment.
Another question we want to consider is, why do the wicked prosper and increase in their wickedness? You should know that the prosperity of the wicked is not always genuine because they can do anything to be rich and because of who they are, there are some business they can venture into that the righteous cannot do. Many can use pen to change figures to be rich which is against their Christian values. The wicked do shady deals, they have no fear for God or regards for His principles. They can owe their staffs to increase their wealth.
The writer of Psalm 73 was almost deceived about the prosperity of the wicked. He said, the wicked man’s strength is firm, they are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. He was almost discouraged until he entered the sanctuary and saw their end. I encourage you to go through Ps 73 and gain wisdom. No matter how prosperous a wicked man is now, don’t envy him because he has no better end than painful one.
