And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. Luke 15:20. Read: Lk 15:4-7
From the story of the prodigal son who was lost but found, we could learn lots of lessons of the love of a father for his son or children. From the very first day he left to taste the deadly pleasure of the world, his father knew that his younger son had taken the wrong step in life which needs nothing but intercession for his return. Though what he did before he left (by confronting his father to demand for his own portion while his father was still alive) was a grave mistake, but his love for his son that has gone astray could not just forget him. He yearned earnestly for his son’s returns. He watches the road every moment to see someone that looks like his son coming home, one day his longing for his son was fulfilled when he sighted him coming. He did not remember the grave sin his son committed but his love covered his multitude of sin, he ran and embraced him and threw world class welcome party for him.
Beloved, the above story is the story of your heavenly Father whose love for you is unconditional and unending. When you took that step to go out of His covering He knew you took the wrong step, now He earnestly yearns for your return. He looks forward for your return. Don’t keep Your Father waiting, be quick to return to Him.
