Winning Wisdom: With Purpose

Topic: With Purpose [Saturday, 3rd June 2017]

God made everything with a place and purpose; even the wicked are included—but for judgment. Proverbs 16:4 MSG

We are in a time where everything is upside down, and it seems like either God is not watching, or somewhere along the line, has lost track of what He was doing. The wicked seem to flourish more than the righteous, and it can tear upon the heart of many with questions that go unanswered. This observation of the prosperity of the wicked has been on from time: “they are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge” (Jeremiah 5:28.) Even the Psalmist observed the same in Psalms 73:3-12.

However, history has shown that God is not blind to the ways of the wicked, and He has a plan for them, just as He has a plan for the righteous. In Jeremiah 5:29, God commented thus: “shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord : shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?" The Psalmist also realized the plan of God for the wicked in Psalms 73:17-19: “until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.  Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.  How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.”.

So, it may seem like they are prospering despite their wickedness, and you have “cleansed your hear in vain”, but don’t be dismayed, God has a definite plan for the wicked, and it is judgement and destruction. Keep holding onto God, and trusting in His blessedness. Like the Psalmist, summarize by saying “but it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God , that I may declare all thy works” Psalms 73:28 .

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

Father thank you for your plan and purpose. Help me to always trust in You, despite what I see around me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
