Topic: Don’t You Remember [Thursday, 6th April 2017]

Don’t you understand even yet? Don’t you remember the 5,000 I fed with five loaves, and the baskets of leftovers you picked up? Matthew 16:9

Human memory, sometimes, is capable of forgetting things. We can’t actually always remember everything that our brain has captured. Most times, when faced with stressful or a challenging situation, we forget the good things and the miracles that the Lord has done for us, and then we begin to reason with our human mind how to solve the challenge, which don’t allow turn out Good. While it is ok to try to find solutions to the challenges that beset us, it is very instructive for us to know that the Lord said we should cast all our cares upon Him, because he cares for us.

Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 16:6 “watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Even though Jesus was not referring to bread, His disciples, who did not carry bread with them when they were traveling, started arguing amongst themselves because they thought He was talking about the bread they did not bring with them. Jesus was left surprised at their action. He was like, these guys have forgotten what I did when I fed 5000 and 4000 people at different times. They seems to have forgotten that I could also provide bread right now for them to eat. He asked them, “don’t you understand even yet? Don’t you remember the 5,000 I fed with five loaves, and the baskets of leftovers you picked up? Or the 4,000 I fed with seven loaves, and the large baskets of leftovers you picked up?” (Matthew 16: 9-10).

Maybe you are in a dire situation right now. And you feel that all hope is lost and you are not going to come out victorious. Jesus is asking you today, don’t you remember what I have done for you? Don’t you remember that I said I will supply all your needs according to My riches in glory? Why are you panicking? Why are you losing hope. If I did it before, I will do it again. I am the same yesterday, today and forever. I will sure fix it for you. Don’t forget my exploits of old. I am still capable of them. Keep your faith alive and keep trusting my Words.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, I thank You for Your Word. I receive it with thanksgiving and assurance that You are capable of turning my situation around. Glorify Yourself in my life now and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
