Topic: The Lamb Of God That Takes Away Sin [10/04/2017]
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29. Read: Heb 9:11-15
When Adam and Eve fell in the garden of Eden bringing curse on the human race, God in His love quickly promised the coming of His Son – Jesus Christ. Before His coming God made a temporary way out of sin. He introduced the sacrifices of goat, bull and turtledove to atone for the sin of His people Israel. The stress, time and processes involved in the Old law was strenuous. The Old testament way of atonement of sin was not for the world but for the nation of Israel.
But when the fullness of time came to enact the new covenant, God came in person of Jesus Christ to offer Himself once as atonement for the sin of (not of Israel alone) the world. When John saw Him, He said, Behold the lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Why will you die a sinner when the price for sin has been fully paid for? May sin no longer have dominion over you since it has been paid for in Jesus name.
