Costly Assumption

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: Costly Assumption [09/04/2017]

And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. Luke 2:43-44. Read: Lk 2:41-51

When Jesus was just twelve years, His parents took Him to Jerusalem as their custom yearly. They feasted and after they had fulfilled the days, they left, leaving Jesus behind. The Bible says, But they, supposing him to have been in the company. What a costly assumption? They were overwhelmed with the enjoyment of the feast that they left Jesus behind after the feast. How are many today leaving Jesus behind when overwhelmed with Church activities? They allow the world to take Jesus away from them, yet assume that He is still with them. They are like Samson who after he was shaven on Delilah's lap said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. Judges  16:20

Jesus said, on the last day, those that assume that they have Me now of which, they don't know they've left Me out of their lives years ago will not enter My Kingdom. They will call upon Me and tell Me what they've done in my name, but I will tell them they made a costly assumption, they actually did it in iniquity. Matt 7:21-23. But Paul said to avoid this costly assumption, you must examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. 2 Cor 13:5

* Father, help me to examine myself to be always sure that Jesus is still in my life. Amen
