But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. 1 Timothy 5:6. Read: Lk 16:19-31
A life lived in pleasure without involving the Originator of pleasure (God) is a doomed life. Ps 11:16. The above scripture says, But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. This means that inordinate pleasure is death in disguise. Such person is a walking corpse. Inordinate pleasure is not only death in disguise, it also brings poverty and untold hardship upon it victim. Pro 21:17 “He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man”. Luke 15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
The rich man in our Bible reading while on earth lived all kinds of pleasurable life. The Bible says in fact he lived in pleasure every day of his life. Which means, he lived all his vain life in pleasure without God. He then thought to himself that he was living a glorious and enjoyable life (as some of us think too), but he was actually dead while on earth. He wasted his life in pleasure on earth and was doomed in the life to come. Whether you believe it or not, heaven and hell is more than real, so live for Jesus today and escape His wrath tomorrow. Your life will not be doomed in Jesus name.
