He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8
One of the reasons people follow God's lead is because he leads in love. God will never will never command followership. He will never command fear in the minds of His followers in a bid to get their loyalty. One of the mysteries of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, was for man to decide to follow God lovingly. Love is very important in leadership, and leaders must allow it be the driving force in a bid to get their followers to fall in line.
As a leader, never use fear to enforce leadership. Let love lead. The thing with fear is that when your followers conquer their fears, they will lead a mutiny against you. And I am sure you don't want that to happen. The truth is, once you are able to win the affection of your followers or team members, you will win their loyalty. I have seen leaders trying to instill fear into their team members, but it always end up having negative impact.
Do you want your team members to buy into your goals? Do you want their total commitment and avowed loyalty? Do you want their respect? Lead with love. Don't play the "do you know who I am" card. It won't get your goals fulfilled. Learn from God and lead with love.
Keep winning daily.
Dear Lord, thank You for Your love with which You lead me. Help me, as I lead my team, to lead with love. Help me to love my team members and also to get a reciprocal affection from them, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
