In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will. Ephesians 1:11
Knowing that we are here on earth, as God's sons and daughters, not to do our own bidding but God's, it is important that we know the intention(s) of God clearly. We are not on earth to fulfill our purpose, but God's purpose (Romans 8:28). God does all things according to the counsel of His own will, which means he has got His intentions even in the things we do for His kingdom.
Sometimes, it is easy for our own intentions to cloud God's real intentions. Why are you writing, preaching, working in church, putting up that Christian programme? Have you found out God's intention, and if you have, are you following it to the letter? When Jesus was on earth, Satan tempted Him to see if He could follow fleshly desires to have the kingdom of the world, without dying. Jesus would have ruined the intention of God if He gave in to the Satan's temptations.
In this same way, we must stop allowing our fleshy desires ruin the intention(s) God wants to achieve through us. Even when we are doing the good works we have been preordained to walk in (Ephesians 2:10), we must not elevate self above the intentions of God. We must stay humble, so that as we decrease, He may increase. Don't be the centre of attraction, let Jesus be the centre of attraction. It is not about you, but about Him who does all things according to the counsel of His will.
Keep winning daily.
Dear Lord, thank You for counting me worthy to reveal Your love, glory and praises through. I am humbled at the opportunity to be Your channel to reach out to the world. Lord, I will always let Your intentions supersede mine, as you keep working in me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
