Topic: Along The Way 1 [Monday, 16th Jan. 2017.]

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Looking back today, I see that the times I actually found money on the ground while on an errand in my younger days, were the times I was not looking for it but had my mind solely focused on the errand; and the times I was looking closely at every piece of trash on the ground, thinking, or even hoping that it would be money, I would be picking up pieces of paper or biscuit wraps instead. The former follows the principle of serendipity – finding something good along the way to a destination, by chance.

As Christians, we do not live by chance but by faith. So, we actually know that God will bless us with all that we need along the way as we walk and work towards His kingdom. King Solomon experienced this as he sought to have God’s kingdom replicated in Israel: “and I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days” (1 Kings 3:13). He prayed a most unselfish prayer and God responded with a most insurmountable covenant.

Beloved, God has called you to an assignment and He has sent me on an errand, and that, is should be our focus. The most we can do is to focus on what the Lord would have us do. God has already put everything we need and even more along our way (2 Peter 1:3). For scriptures say, “now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

Keep winning daily.

Wise Action:

Pick on a particular area of your life and say a Solomon-like prayer over it and wait on God to shock you.
