A Promise For You From Bible Promises:
Topic: Sit, Think And Give Thanks [11/01/2017]
Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel. 2 Samuel 7:8. Read: 2 Sam 7:1-3
It's so disheartening that many people forget where they're coming from so easily, some are lured away by the ecstasy of their positions while others are entangled by the pleasures. Some suddenly wear pride like garment and necklace. Achievements is another thing that makes some not to give thanks to God (the ultimate source of help) and humanity that have helped them in one capacity or the other. Some feel that, they have made it based on intellectual strength, ability and their power. They leave God out of their endeavors and achievements and praise themselves.
Apostle Paul never attributed all his achievements to his educational attainment but praised God for His enormous grace to Labour more. 1 Cor 15:10. David sat down and thought about the goodness of the Lord, how God called him from the bush and anointed him King in the presence of his elder brothers. He thought of how God built him a house and gave him rest from his enemies, he thought of reciprocating God's goodness by building a house for Him. Sit down, think and thank God Almighty from where he met you and picked you up to where you are now.
* Only those that think can thank. So give thanks to God Almighty and to those that have helped you become what you are today.
