Dunamis’ Daily Devotional January 8, 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche – Looking up to God

Topic: Looking up to God [January 8, 2017]

Scripture: Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:5 (NIV)

Thought For The Day: Those who look up to God will never look down in shame.

There was a time King Jehoshaphat and the children of Israel were greatly threatened and surrounded by the armies of Moab, Amon and Edom (Mount Seir) in battle. It was a situation beyond their physical strength and strategy. What did they do?

They looked unto God as the Source of their strength and He delivered them (2 Chronicles 15:29).

At another time, the children of Israel were faced with the Red Sea while at the same time being pursued by the Egyptians. They were in a confused state, but Moses looked unto God for His salvation and they were delivered (Exodus 14:15).

It is dangerous to struggle to get something done by all means or continue business as usual when you do not know what to do, instead of looking unto God.

Beloved, when you are faced with a challenge, look up to the LORD for instruction, direction, inspiration and revelation because He knows what to do (2 Chronicles 20:12). Those who look up to God can never be let down by Him. If you are at the mercy of God, you are no longer at the mercy of the devil!

Remember this: Those who look up to God will never look down in shame.

Assignment(S):

1. Refuse to look at other sources of strength when faced with a challenge

2. Keep your eyes fixed only on God.

Prayer: LORD, help me not to look at anything or anyone when faced with a challenge. Keep my eyes focused on You, O LORD, in Jesus’ Name.
