Topic: Dependence on God [January 7, 2017]

Scripture:  And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. – Luke 1:26-27.

Thought For The Day: God shows His glory to the one who has surrendered everything to Him.

In Luke 1:26, God chose Mary out of several women in her time to bring forth the purpose of God by birthing Jesus Christ. It is indeed a privilege to be used by God to impact your generation.

One of the key attributes of Mary that attracted God to her was virginity. Virginity implies sincerity and inexperience. God works with people who do not rely on their experience but on their encounter with Him.

When you come to the point in your life when you can depend on nothing and no one apart from God, then God is going to choose you and use you to shock your generation.

Many times, we depend on many things. God will not be able to take the glory for your achievements if you depend on your experience, connection or intelligence. When you do not depend on anything but God, you will be amazed at what God will do with you.

Beloved, you need to come to a point where you have nothing to depend on but God. God shows His glory to the one who has surrendered everything to Him.

Remember this: God shows His glory to the one who has surrendered everything to Him.

Assignments:

1. Surrender everything concerning your life to God.

2. Let God know that He is the only person that you depend on.

Prayer: O LORD, I surrender to You everything that will contend with Your Glory in my life in Jesus’ Name.

Amazing Fact: Some women see more colours than everyone else. Most people have three types of colour receptors to see colour vision, while some people have four or even five of these receptors and can see a wider range of colours.
