Topic: The Secret Of Fruitfulness [Saturday January 28, 2017]

Scripture: God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28 (NIV)

Thought For The Day: Where forgiveness is lacking, fruitfulness is not in view.

From the anchor scripture, it is very clear that fruitfulness is God’s will for His children. It is a Divine command to be fruitful. Therefore, to be fruitless is to not fulfilling Divine mandate for living.

Sometime ago, a woman in our church had been barren for years. One day, she heard me preach on the subject of fruitfulness being a command and not an advice and that if rats could give birth effortlessly; there was no reason why we should not be fruitful. The woman heard the word and her life changed from that day.

God’s purpose for His children is all-round fruitfulness.

Today, we will like to consider one key to fruitfulness.

It is forgiveness!

Nothing thrives around the man who does not forgive the offences of others. Joseph named his first son, Manasseh which means ‘I forget’ (Genesis 41:51). He also named his second son Ephraim which means ‘fruitful’,

Joseph was fruitful in his lifetime because he forgave and forgot the wickedness of his brothers and the accusation of Potiphar’s wife against him. Where forgiveness is lacking, fruitfulness is not in view.

Remember this: Where forgiveness is lacking, fruitfulness is not in view.
