That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. Ephesians 2:12
Sin not only made us unacceptable to God, it also alienated us entirely from God. We were not just cut out from His life, there would never had been a way we could have had any dealings with God. We were not just far from God, we were practically without God in this world. We were in a terrible shape and state. But now, through the blood of Christ, we have been made nigh to God (Ephesians 2:13).
Jesus came to reverse the situation for we, who "in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God..." (1 Peter 2:10). This is awesome. We never had an outstanding identify. We were identified with sin. But now, we are identified with God. Scriptures say "now are we the sons of God..." (1 John 3:2).
We are no longer strangers to the covenant of promise in Christ Jesus. We have received the promise of the Father which is the life in Christ Jesus. We are now part of His Kingdom. And in this world, we are not hopeless. We are a people filled with hope which the Lord has given us (Jeremiah 29:11 AMP). We are now a people of God. Hallelujah! And nothing is going to change our new found status, because I am persuaded that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Glory to God!
Keep winning daily.
Dear Lord, thank You for reversing my status from a person without God to a person with God. Thank You for making me part of Your people. I am excited to be called by Your name. I am part of the commonwealth of Israel, brought nigh to God by the blood of Christ forever, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
