A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: True Resolution [28/12/2016]

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. Matthew 9:17. Jn 15:1-5

Resolution is the process of making a firm decision to either pursue a course or restrain from a course. Resolution helps one to become jack of one trade and master of it. It helps you define your life accurately. You pour your strength on a course and pursue it until you accomplish it. Year in year out, on 31st of December, many of us make new year resolutions. We go to Church (even those that have not been to Church since the beginning of the year) to resolute before God. We tell God mostly what we want to achieve in the new year. We tell Him we need His support. Some tell God to help them quit some certain habits which has become a stigma to them. Am very sure that many are or have written down their new year resolutions awaiting 31st to come.

Well, the truth is that, no matter the resolution you make, if it’s not empowered by God, it won’t be realized in the new year. Resolution can be true or false. True resolution depend on God while false resolution depend on the flesh. Php 4:13, 1 Sam 2:9. The only true resolution you can ever make is to make a decision to give your life to Jesus because since you are entering the new year. 2 Cor 5:17. When you enter the new year with a new record and a new heart, everything will and every day will continue to be new to you. You must resolve to turn from your sin to become a saint of God, from unrighteousness to becoming righteous. Don’t enter the new year with defiled heart, make sure you get rid of your old heart and let God give you a new one. Eze 36:26
