But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. Matthew 13:25
The enemy's mission has always been to attack. While we are weak or asleep, the devil tries to challenge God by attacking His servants (us), by trying to frustrate God's work in our hands. But the good news is that we already share in Christ's victory..."for we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end" (Hebrew 3:14).
But then, after you have tarried in God's presence, used some help from the brethren, got fired up again by an anointed song and you are fully awake again, your eyes are open and you realize a lot had gone wrong while you were asleep: Your child got negatively influenced; you picked up a bad habit; you hurt someone; recommended the wrong person in church or for a job somewhere. The devil just did some damage and crept away!
The way out is to simply go back to the Master Who saw it all happen. And just as He told the labourers,(Matthew 13:29-30), He is saying to you, don't try to correct your wrongs in a hurry. Leave things to Him in faith prayerfully and when it is time, He will ask the Reapers to separate the evil from the good work He had committed into your hands: He will not let your labour waste.
Keep winning daily.
LORD, I ask that you remove from all that concerns me, every evil seed that had been sown in my moment of weakness and negligence, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
