Topic: Don’t Rebel God’s Word [Tuesday, 15th Nov. 2016]

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Hebrews 4:7

Rebellion is a product of unbelief, and it sometimes manifests itself in open protest and riot. When people do not believe in their leader’s suggestions and navigation, the usual response is rebellion against the leader. This was what happened during the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt to their promised land. They heard God’s word spoken to them by Moses, but did not believe. This made them rebel against Moses, but the rebels ended up dying in the wilderness.

You might be having the wilderness experience in your life and be wondering if God’s Word to you will ever come true. Snap out of those thoughts. Don’t slip into rebellion through unbelief. Rebellion shuts you out of God’s promises. Deuteronomy 9:23 says: “likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.” God does not want you to miss out of His promises for you, and a rebellious attitude won’t help you either.

This is why we all must learn to believe God, irrespective of the situations we are faced with. Hebrews 4:11 says: “let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” God’s promises are still there for the taking, but only with your faith can it become yours. Because “we which have believed do enter into rest…” (Hebrews 4:3).

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to always believe in Your Word and not to rebel against it through unbelief. I trust in Your grace to always keep my faith alive, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
