Topic: Three Ways Believers Respond to God’s Word. Pt Three [01/11/2016]
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:25. Read: Ps 1:1-3
Before we finally discuss the last category, let’s quickly recap the previous points. The first category we said are those who do not know God’s Word while the second are those who know God’s Word and don’t do it. Today, the third category is
(3) Those That Know God’s Word and Do. This category do not just enjoy hearing or studying God’s Word alone, they make extra effort to put the Word to practice. They hear and do. They also continue in doing the Word until they become perfect. They’re not forgetful hearers because they put the one they know to work and Holy Spirit reminds them of what they know and add new ones to them. The doers of the Word are always blessed beyond measure. They enjoy God’s peace and joy unspeakable full of glory.
Their lives never lack testimony, in fact, they’re epitome of God’s wonders. They’re protected on every side. No Satanic weapon formed against them prospers. According to the psalmist, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper”. Ps 1:3. And Joshua said, good success belongs to the doer of the Word. Jos 1:8. Dare to personalize God’s Word!
