A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: This World Is Not Our Home [14/11/16]

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. Hebrews 11:16. Read: Heb 11:13-16

Jim Reeves sang a song, This world is not my home I’m just passing through, a treasure I lay up somewhere beyond the blue, the angel beckoned on me from heaven’s open door and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore. No matter how beautiful a prison is, it is still a prison different from one’s home. Therefore one cannot prefer a prison to his/her house. There is also no one that has ever gone to the market and because of the side attractions decided to pass a night there or turned it to his/her home. When a woman goes to the market, after purchasing what she needs she returns home.

In the same vein, the earth might be beautiful to us, but it’s still not our home. It cannot be compared to our original home – heaven where we came from and God is expecting us to return home after everything on earth. In this world, we’re  strangers passing through it to oversee the investment of our Father God. Jesus said, “Occupy till I come”. He awaits us to give Him reports of our pilgrimage on earth. We’re visitors to the earth and no visitor stays in a visited place forever, but returns  back to where he/she comes from. Peter said, since we’re strangers and pilgrims in this world, we must abstain from things of this world that war against our soul to entangle and ensnare it. 1 Pt 2:11. Our citizenship is of heaven.

#BiblePromisesQuote

Turning this world to your home will cause you your heavenly home. Don’t be entangled by the things of this passing world, heaven is your home.
