Topic: Rest For Your Soul [09/11/2016]
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. Psalms 42:5. Read: Matt 11:28-30
From the above scripture, the psalmist tells us that the soul of a man can be cast down. Which means (since the soul is the real man) when the soul of a man is down, all hope seem lost. The soul can be restless, troubled, battered, weighed down, depressed, stressed, frustrated, sorrow, hopeless, burdened, hungered and thirsty. David is one of the Bible characters that knows much about the restlessness of the soul and often you hear him cry to the Creator of the soul - God to help him quench the thirst in his soul. Ps 63:1. Only the Creator of the soul knows about the needs of it and how to meet it.
Just because Jesus knows the troubles and needs of the soul, He's a free medical assistant to every troubled soul. To every restless, troubled, battered, weighed down, depressed, stressed, frustrated, sorrow, hopeless, burdened, hungered and thirsty soul, Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and ye shall find rest unto your souls". Only Jesus has the kind of peace and rest your soul desires and He promises to give it to you if you come to Him just the way you are.
