Topic: Works He Did [7/10/2016]

Text: John 14:12

Like we saw yesterday, we are all anointed as a result of the grace of God given to us through salvation. Jesus said in John 14:12 – “verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” This scripture collaborates the fact that as long as we believe in Jesus – be born again – we have the supernatural ability to perform miraculous works.

When we read John 14:12, our minds always go to the miracles of healing, restoration, raising the dead, etc, that Jesus did when He was on earth, which He said we will do in greater dimension. But, we don’t necessarily think about the miracle of salvation and reconciliation we are to perform in the lives of people. This is actually the first and most important work Jesus did while on earth. Matthew 4:17 says: “from that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

The beautiful thing is that, it is mostly when we engage in the work of spreading the miracle of salvation that other works manifest. Scriptures said about the first disciples of Jesus in Mark 16:20 that “they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.” When they went preaching about salvation, other works – signs – followed. The greater works than Jesus did should manifest more in the miracle of salvation that we perform in the lives of people in the world.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for commissioning me for greater works than You did. By the working of Your Spirit in me, I perform greater works of soul winning, turning many unto righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
