As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. (Psalm 127:4)
Every child born into this world is God’s latest idea and solution to the challenges in the world. Children are precious, not only to the family in which they are born into, but also to God. Their birth not only brings joy to their parents, but also to Heaven, like in the case of Jesus Christ in Luke 2:12-13. They are important in the grand scheme of God’s eternal plan, and this fact must be established in minds of every parent and guardian.
Scriptures say “as arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.” (Psalm 127:4) This emphasizes the fact that every child is a weapon in the hands of God. That is why they must be nurtured in the way of the Lord. God has given every child to the family they belong to in trust, that like Abraham, parents will command their children after them to keep the ways of the Lord (Genesis 18:19).
These arrows in the hand of the Lord are God’s ideas to bring solutions to the world’s problems. They are God’s weapons to shoot down Satan’s kingdom. They are blessings to, not only their families, but to the world. We must take conscious steps in nurturing them with this in our mind. We must not contribute to their destruction but make sure we protect them from anything that will destroy them. Build your child(ren), give them the right training – but spiritually and otherwise. They are God’s arrows.

Dear Lord, I lift up the children You have given and will give me in prayers. They are blessings to me and they fulfill their destinies. They will receive the right tutoring that will shape their lives for excellence in You, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
