Topic: Confidence In His Presence [Tuesday, 18th Oct. 2016]
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. (Colossians 2:10)
There is this confidence that pervades a youngster when he is in the presence of his father. He feels so assured and secured. At that point he could do anything because he knows his father’s got his back. But there are times when he is walking alone without his father, he would have to behave and stay out of trouble because he knows his father is not with him. This is how it is with us and God.
Scriptures say “we are complete in him…” (Colossians 2:10). That is, He is our Completeness, our Perfection and our Confidence. In Him we find our confidence. The consciousness of His presence inputs in us that sense of invincibility. We just have the confidence that we can do all things. This is because the presence of God is with us. But when we loose consciousness of God’s presence, when we feel that God is not close by, usually due to some sinful acts or unbelief, that confidence is eroded – our sense of invisibility and the “i-can-do” attitude dissipates.
God does not want the latter to be our lot. He wants us to be confident, bold and strong, because He would neither leave us nor forsake us. He is with us always, even unto the end of age (Matthew 28:20). If you feel cut off from God because of sin in your life, ask Him for forgiveness and re-establish fellowship with Him. This is because it is when we are in fellowship with Him that we have confidence in His presence. Moses asked God not to take His presence away from the Israelites, because His presence is a distinguishing factor and gives us confidence to defeat our foes. His presence is with you, so be confident. Stay in fellowship with Him.

Dear Lord, thank You for Your presence which is always with me. I am confident in the fact that one with You is majority. With You I can do all things because I am complete on You, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
