The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. (Proverbs 20:27)
God's desire is to lead us to green pastures. He wants to direct our paths. But you see, God cannot give us directions when we choose to stay away and not talk with Him. There is actually no way you can hear God when you don't have time for God. This is why we all need to be serious with God and our fellowship with God.
Don't wonder too much why the voice of God seems distant to you, it is because you are distant from Him. We all desire to hear from God, but for that to happen consistently, we need to desire an unbroken fellowship with God. This fellowship with God must be deliberate. King David said in Psalms 42:1 - "as the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God." This was a man expressing a conscious and deliberate desire. This is what God expects from us.
You can't be doing "Hi God, good morning. I will see you later," and expects God to tell you deep secrets. No way. Beloved, "deep calleth unto deep..." (Psalm 42:7). If you want God to tell you deep secrets, you must go deep with Him. Be serious about your fellowship with God. Take deliberate steps to rekindle your loving fellowship with Him. Take it as a serious project, because it is a serious project. Be serious with God.
Keep winning daily.
Dear Lord, I am sorry for not being serious with my fellowship with You. Today I promise to make amend and return to my First Love. Thank You for tugging at my heart to come back to You and as I do, I will always remain in fellowship, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
