Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19. 2 Cor. 7:8-10
My teacher said, God does not take away His power from His children when they commit sin but deactivate it. But when they genuinely repent of their sin, He just reactivate it. For instance, when Elisha committed the sin of anger, his power was deactivated by God, he had to reconnect back by music. 2 kgs 3:11-15. Genuine repentance brings total restoration. When Samson lost his God-given power through fornication (that led to the removal of his eyes), the Bible said that, his hair (the source of his power) began to grow again. Such can only happen as a result of repentance. Apostle Peter who denied vehemently his master thrice was also restored by Jesus after he had godly sorrow.
Genuine repentance also brings a time of refreshing from the presence of God Almighty. It brings joy unspeakable full of glory. Genuine repentance restores you back to your former position and causes praises to spring from your mouth. When King Nebuchadnezzar was turned into a beast as a result of pride for seven years, and later enthroned by God, he gave him all the glory. Beloved, genuinely repent of anything that will cause God Almighty to deactivate you from Him. Jn 15:1-5
