Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 1 Timothy 3:7. Read: 1 Tim 3:1-10
The term "Charity begins at home" is key to good leadership. It's interesting to know that leadership (whether in secular and Church of God) start from our homes, hence, Bible says in Pro 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Most leaders in our society today are actually showing the stuff they're made of from their various homes. Whereby many have been taught that, only the less privilege are to work hard for the rich to enjoyed while they're not to work but to lavish free money. Whereby we've taught our children that, the rich and the poor are world apart, therefore, they're to be Lord over. We often heard, "We are the leaders of tomorrow", yet, the old ones fail to leave the position of leadership to the youths because of how they were brought up yesterday that wealth must be amass to oneself and generations unborn. We are actually reaping the dividend of our yesterday labour in our leaders today.
Paul told Timothy the qualities of a leader that must rule in the house of God. Prominent among the qualities Paul gave is, a deacon must not be a lover of money, he must be a man that has been able to manage his house very well. He must also be without guilt outside, he must be hospitable and self control. He must be of good report. Such qualities are lacking among our leaders, this qualities are in high demand today in our leaders.
* Leaders are both born and made through education and experience.
* May God send us qualified leaders in our Nations in Jesus Name
