Topic: Death on the Cross [19/9/2016]

Text: Galatians 3:10-13

The death on the cross is very significant to us as sons and daughters of God. Jesus was prophesied to be a sacrifice for sin – the works of the law. God deliberately chose the death on the cross for Jesus. In scriptures, there were several attempts made on Jesus’ life, but He escaped them all. There was a time the Jews wanted to toss Him off a cliff, but how He managed to meander His way through the crowd still remains a mystery.

There was a curse of the law that we were under. Everyone who work according to the flesh is under this curse, because the work of the flesh is the work of the law (Galatians 3:1-3). For us to be free from the curse of the law, Jesus had to be made a curse for us. And the only way He could be made a curse for us is to die the death of the cross. That is why scriptures says in Galatians 3:13 – “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.”

Now, we are no longer under the curse of the law, neither will any form of curse have effect on us. Christ was made a curse for us, and by His death, He has put an end to the curse of the law, and made us the blessed of God in Christ Jesus. Thats why scriptures say in Ephesians 1:3 – “blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” The curse is buried, the blessing is released. Live in the blessing.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
Thank You Jesus for dying the death of the cross so You could be made a curse for me. Thank You for ending the curse of the law over my life and releasing your blessing upon me. I live in the blessing that you have made available to me always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
