Topic: Building Your Home with the Word of God (2)

Dear Reader,

The joy of the Lord will fill your home and every promise you have been holding onto, in God’s Word, will become a reality in your life, in Jesus’ Name!

Last week, we saw that obedience to God’s Word brings marital success. Today, I will be looking at the state of your heart and how it affects your family, from God’s Word.

The Bible says: And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.  Those by the way side are they that hear (Luke 8:9-12).

From the passage above, the seed is the Word of God and the ground is the heart of they that hear God’s instruction. There are different categories of hearers, and they all have access to the same quality and quantity of God’s Word. However, the result of each individual differs, depending on the state of heart.

There is a way out of every problem in life, but the question is: Are you willing to do what will set you free? God’s Word has a solution to every family problem, but many refuse to obey. Find time to examine your heart and as God’s Wisdom and instructions are made available to you, make the necessary changes.

The Bible, which is the Word of God, is an all-round solution Book. It is God’s Word to the dying mankind. Find out what God’s Word has said about your peculiar situation and hold fast to it.  As you do your own part, God will take care of the rest.

For instance, many have heard God’s Word on peace – so the seed of peace has already been sown in their hearts. This peace is meant to affect every area of life: home, children, spouse, job etc. So, if peace is missing in any area, it means the birds of the air have eaten up that seed of peace.

God instituted the home for peace, love, joy and progress. If you have been experiencing anything contrary to these, see what the Bible says: Then … came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you (John 20:19). The same way, I say to you now, peace be unto your home! Peace be to every area of your marriage, in Jesus’ Name! As you put your faith in God, this time, that expectation in your life and home that has been delayed for so long will surely come to pass. Maybe, you have waited so long to have a child of your own, as you look up to the risen Christ, your expectation will be fulfilled. You will no longer be termed desolate. You shall be fruitful!

At Jesus’ resurrection, He shattered the power of the devil in that area of your life. No matter how hopeless your case may seem, God has not given up on you, so don’t close your case by yourself.

The first adjustment to make, in order to have Jesus in your family, is to become a bonafide child of God.  You become a child of God by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.  If you are set for it, please say this prayer:  “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today as a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. I believe You died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”

If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
