Topic: Your Partnership [14/8/2016]

Text: 2 Corinthians 6:14-16

There is no partnership between light and darkness. When light comes, darkness disappears. Darkness can’t stand the presence of light and because of this, there will never be a partnership between light and darkness. That is, there is no way both of them can do anything together. We are lights, and the world is darkness and gross darkness, the people (Isaiah 60:1).

Ephesians 5:1 says we should “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Our fellowship is not with the works of darkness and the works of darkness are carried out by people of darkness – the world. Rather, we should shine our light on their works and reprove them. It should not be heard of us that the unfruitful works of darkness are seen in us. We are the light of the world and our lives should reflect that, for we “were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).

Our actions are influenced by our partnership. The people we spend our time and share our deepest feelings with, shape who we become. If we partner with darkness, we will produce works of darkness but if we, as lights, partner with fellow lights, we will produce works reflective of our light. We must not be unequally yoked together in partnership with darkness. It is an unequal yoke and cannot profit us. We must come out from such unequal yokes at all levels of partnership and be separate (2 Cor 6:17), so that our lights can shine forth unhindered.
Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
I am a light. My partnership is with the light and fellow lights. I have been translated from the kingdom of this darkness into the Kingdom of lights. Therefore, I have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. I walk in the light always through the working of God’s Spirit in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
