Topic: Provoke One Another [26/8/2016]

Text: Hebrews 10:24

Scriptures say in Ephesians 2:10 that we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God has preordained us to do. Good works come in different shades and shapes, but it is what God has purposed us to do; the need we have been wired to meet here on earth. But we can’t work in isolation. God created us to be interdependent on each other. We all need each other to successfully carry out the divine mandate given to us by God.

Hebrews 10:24 says: “and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.” The word provoke in this scripture literally means to incite, to spur and to inspire. Instead of being a stumbling block to your brethren, inspire them to do that which God has ordained them to do. We must look out for each other and make sure we are all fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives, because we are all working for our Kingdom and our God.

When you see your brethren struggling with his “good work”, consider him and provoke him unto good work. If you can, bear his burden with him (Romans 14:1). Give him the right counsel. Inspire confidence in him. Show him that he can also do what God has called him to do by doing yours. People draw inspiration from the achievements of other people. Let’s not taunt people with our achievements, but rather, let’s inspire them to achieve theirs. That’s the way to go. With this, we can all fulfill our mandates and give glory to our God and Father.

Keep winning daily.

PRAYER:
I pray for everyone in Christ, that we all fulfill our purpose and meet the needs our Father created us to meet. We won’t be stumbling blocks to ourselves, but rather, we will always spur each other unto good works, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
