Text: 2 Corinthians 5:19
The gospel message is very important. It is not about a fiery, fire-spitting God ready to throw all who are sinners to the lake of fire. The Gospel message is not about a vengeful God, who is preparing to pour down His wrath on those who are not on His side. No, that’s not the gospel. The gospel is not about a God Who wants to make people wealthy as a bait for them to come to Him. The gospel is not about a meal ticket, a health insurance, a life insurance and all the other stuffs we hear God will do only if His message is received.
The gospel is simple and clear. It is the power of God unto just one thing – salvation. Apostle said in Romans 1:16: “for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” The gospel is God reaching out to man to save man and share His life with man in a loving comminion or relationship.
The gospel must not be tainted with any inhibitions or enticement. It must be pure. Purely about a loving, forgiving Father, Who no longer imputes sin on those who dare to receive and share in His life. For “to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19). This is the gospel – the good news of God’s love, because “God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:17).

Prayer:
Thank You Lord for the gospel message You have committed unto me. It is a message of peace between You and the world. You are dropping Your wrath and reaching out with love to a dead world, offering Your life. I pray that wherever this good news is preached, it is received by men, in Jesus name. Amen.
