Topic: Seek Consistency [20/7/2016]

Text: Galatians 6:9

It is one thing to be good at something, but it is another thing to be consistently good at it. You might be known to have an ability to perform at a very high level, but maintaining that level is key to being world class and world renowned. It is the will of God that we excel in all our endeavour, and one way of doing that is to seek consistency of performance. That is where true excellence lies. We must all seek to be consistent in all that we do without wavering, or faltering.

Apostle Paul said in Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” The word ‘faint’ in the scripture, which is translated ekluō in Greek, means despond and it connotes ‘to give up’. And to give up is to be inconsistent. ‘Well’ in the scripture above is translated as kalos which have one of its meanings as excellence. He was simply telling them don’t give up being excellent. Be consistent in being excellent, and you shall reap the reward.

One of the beautiful things about being consistent is that it can be learnt. Just as you grow into excellence by practice, so also you can be consistent by practice. You can start learning it today with the time you spend with God in communion. Seek consistency in your communication with the Holy Spirit. And from there, it will flow to other areas of your life. Be consistent as you walk and work in excellent.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
I declare that I am consistent in all I do by the working of the Spirit. My excellence is maintained and I am not giving it up. God’s Spirit teaches me to apply my heart to wisdom even as I developed a consistent communion with Him, in Jesus name. Amen.
