Topic: Keep Your Words [18/7/2016]
Text: James 5:12

Humans are emotional being that crave relationship. Infant, no one can survive without a form a relationship. We all need someone somehow to live our lives. And every relationship is fueled by trust. And the best way to build trust is to keep your word. This is very important in any kind of relationship we are into, whether business, social, family, etc. We must endeavour to match every single word or promises with a course of action that will strengthen our relationship with people.

People tend to be frivolous with words, not caring what the outcome of their frivolity will be. But that must not be said about us. There is a time to be silent and a time to speak (Ecclesiastes 3:7) You must know the right time to speak and you must mean what you say and also keep your words. Don’t just say things you can’t do or make promises you can’t keep. You will only end destroying the trust that was reposed on you by people.

Proverbs 13:3 says: “he that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.” In branding, there is a thing called brand reputation. If a brand fails to do what it says it can do, it will lose its reputation in the eyes of the public. Think of yourself as a brand. The only way to sell yourself is by matching your words with action. Don’t destroy your reputation and at the end your relationship with people by not keeping your words. Keep your words.

Keep winning daily.

Wise Action:

Always take conscious steps to think through a course of action to achieve what you are about to commit yourself to through your words.
