Topic: Forged In Adversity [8/7/2016]
Text: Matthew 11:28

There is no doubt that everyone, as long as we remain in this world, will not have to face adversities in life. Only the dead and the unborn are free from adversities. But for us the living, adversities are as certain as the oxygen we breath. You cannot pray your way out of them. God will not even listen to you because that is not consistent with His will. He said in 2 Timothy 2:3 “endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

Daniel is a perfect example of a man who was forged in adversity.  He always had an adverse situation to deal with all through his life, and they were all life threatening. One of such adversities was recorded in Daniel 2:1-24. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream but forgot the dream. He demanded that his forgotten dream be made known with the interpretation if not all the sorcerers, astrologers and wise men in his kingdom will die. But Daniel faced the seemingly impossible situation head on and came through unscathed.

With every adversity he came through, Daniel became more and more important and relevant, that his relevance spanned three kings. Face every adversity head on. No matter how intense it is, dont chicken out. You are becoming more experienced, more skilled, more valuable, wiser, stronger, better and more confident with every adversity you face and surmount. Count it all joy when you fall into diver temptations (adversities), knowing this, that you will be perfect and entirely prepared to win always (James 1:2-5 paraphrased).

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
I embrace every adversity that comes my way for I know I am coming out a better me. I am being forged into the best by adversities. They don’t overwhelm me, because I am an overcomer now and always, in Jesus name.  Amen.
