Supreme Court Football Club of Abuja on Friday evening defeated FC Taraba of Jalingo 2-1 in the early week nine game of the Nigeria National League, NNL decided inside Area 3 playground located within the Nation’s capital.

The hard earned victory against visiting Jalingo-based team stamped Supreme Court FC as a superior side after they held fought to a goalless draw in Jalingo at first leg during the first stanza of the league. The Apex would have returned home with maximum points penultimate day if the centre Referee allowed the only goal scored by Supreme Court in that earlier encounter to count.

But the unfortunate no-win scenario in Jalingo was decimated by the home side, Supreme Court with a superb performance anchored on enhanced work play.

The reversed fixture being the ninth match of the current campaign witnessed a first half heralded by several shots on goals by both sides with any right conversion into the net.

It took a whole lot of time before impressive Charles Chinedu neatly headed home in the 58 minutes of play after he was set up through a corner kick. The away club then got an easy equalizer six minutes after Supreme Court back line were caught sleeping.

Not done yet, the Abuja-based team with massive support from home fans and the entire board of FCT Football Association didn’t disappoint after all in the remaining part of the match soaked with much pressure.

Ace defender and former U-23 Man, Izu Omego coolly tapped in a calculated shot which emanated from a close range free kick in the 80th minute.

Technical Adviser, Joachim Osuji whose joy knew no bound praised his boys effort and enjoined them to remain focused with five matches to go this season.

The next pot of call for Supreme Court FC will be in Ilorin when they trade tackle with Kwara United while FC Taraba welcome Dream FC of Makurdi same weekend.
