Rolls-Royce 103EX: The future of luxury cars
To Roll-Royce, the next 100 years of luxury mobility across the world will be a grand sanctuary, where thoughts can breathe in complete tranquillity and products designed less like a car, and more like an individual sculpture made from one seamless surface.
With the unveil of the 103EX holding from 18th to June 26, at the Roundhouse London, United Kingdom, Roll-Royce wants car lovers to “Imagine a future where each Rolls-Royce is as unique as your own fingerprint”.
The new car is the manufacturer’s first concept car and for the company, the vision in its purest form, is to create the automotive equivalent of haute couture, as it is the future of luxury mobility.
According to Rolls Royce, the entire roof canopy of the EX103 opens up to give you an experience like no other. The company promises chauffeur-like treatment, provided by the built-in voice control automatics in this car.
The EX103 boasts a dazzling design, including 28-inch wheels and a silky wool sofa in the interior. It also has advanced technological features, such as total self-driving capability.
Rolls-Royce said that the immense 12-cylinder engines that have powered its huge cars in recent years are “most unlikely to exist in the future.” So, adding a dose of mystery, one can only surmise how this Rolls-Royce will be powered.
The car debuted with artificial intelligence, making the extreme-luxury car fully self-driving (no steering wheels) and creating a virtual assistant that will provide recommendations on destinations and scheduling.
It also comes with organic light-emitting diode (OLED) touch-screen, Macassar wood paneling, deep-pile ivory wool carpet and a silky wool sofa for comfortable seating on the interior.
Other features include, a 19.4-foot-long, 5.2-foot-high body, equaling the same dimensions as the extended-wheelbase edition of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, it has polished metal, the famous Rolls-Royce “pantheon” grille with Double-R badge, luggage compartment near the front wheels besides, there was no price listed for this vehicle — as a concept, it’s not for sale
The organisation said: “Looking towards the next 100 years, each and every Rolls-Royce will be a unique work of art. Shape, size and silhouette – you will be able to craft your vision entirely from the wheels up.
“Rolls-Royce 103EX is our first ever vision vehicle, and embodies just one of the endless possibilities that awaits. A personalised icon for the future, providing a sanctuary of calm in an ever-faster world. The pinnacle of effortless autonomous travel, gliding silently through the cities of tomorrow.”
