Topic: Your Multi-Dimensional Nature! (3)
Dear Reader,
Today is another great opportunity to bring God’s Word your way, which will turn your life to a wonder. I have been able to explain to you your dimensional nature as a woman and some qualities expected of you.
This week, I will be deliberating on your dimensional nature as A Wife!
God’s Word declares: …For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? (Matthew 19:5). That is, God gave you to your husband as a precious, valuable gift. The moment you were joined together in marriage, the Bible says you become one flesh!
Marriage, in Bible context, connotes to be inseparably joined (glued) to someone, without the existence of an interfering space between them. Therefore, as a wife, you must ensure that there is proper ‘cleaving’, otherwise, loneliness will stare you right in the face while you remain helpless.
Of course, I am not implying that you should always follow him around or anything like that, in the name of cleaving to your husband! However, wherever possible and practicable, you should go with him; but bear in mind that this may not be possible all the time, and should not be an impediment to your relationship.
There are two vital keys I certify and practicing them will properly help you cleave to your husband in marriage, and they are trust and communication.
Trust! This means believing and expecting only the best from your husband every time. It also means that you believe your husband means well and that his intentions are pure (I Corinthians 13:7). This may sound a little strange: to always see only the good side of your husband and not give in to the temptation of yielding to suspicion sometimes!
Though trust does not fully imply that your husband is always right, but the bottom line is that you commit him to God, who alone can keep and then choose to relate with him on the basis of confidence, trusting God to work out whatever might be out of place, as you co-operate with him.
Communication! This means using words, actions, body language, letters etc with a view to making your husband not only to listen to what you have to say, but to also understand what you are saying and feeling too.
It is God’s injunction that you be a helpmeet to your husband as a wife. So, see to it that you are a contributor to his life in measurable and quantifiable terms! Call on the Spirit of God inside you to guide and give you insight into the innermost part of your husband’s being, so that you can perceive what his needs are and how you can help to make a difference.
These may appear not worth mentioning, but perhaps, a gentle neck or back massage at the end of a hard day’s work, putting on the water heater to ensure no delay when he’s ready to take his bath or putting off the television set so he could have a restful sleep when most needed, will make a huge difference in the long run.
As you do, you will discover that you are not only meeting his needs but also strengthening the husband/wife relationship between you. He won’t be able to get you out of his mind, even if you are out of his sight! You will make it!
Grace to be a wife in deed and in truth by following the principles discussed in this bit, is the benefit of those born again. Being born again entails confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. Do you want to become born again? Then say this prayer of faith: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
